MuchMoreMusic’s Revival celebrates the years gone by; the good ol’ days and maybe those better left gone! In “1990” host Traci Melchor takes you back to a time when Madonna had us striking a pose and AC/DC had us thunderstruck. The Fresh Prince had arrived in Bel-Air and Julia Roberts was the prettiest woman on the block. Bart Simpson first uttered the words “Ay Carumba” while Milli Vanilli uttered – um, well nothing. From fanny packs to hammer pants, we’ve got it all on Revival: 1990.

1990 marked the start of a new decade and with it came some pretty hilarious fashions. Like, for instance, fanny packs. Admit it, you had one! I remember strapping up and cruising around town with my brand new fanny pack.
Do you remember Deee-Lite’s song “Groove Is In The Heart” or how about “Pump Up The Jam” by Technotronic? Dance music exploded in 1990 and many of us were grooving out on the dance floor in our spandex getups. Spandex was IN and almost every dance video of the year featured at least one person busting a move in the tight fitting fabric.
How about Vanilla Ice? I remember all the guys at my school suddenly shaving lines into their eyebrows and heads walking around with “Ice Ice Baby” blaring on their walkmans. Word to your mother!
And of course, who can forget hammer pants? These are maybe the most memorable fashion statement of 1990. With the release of his single “U Can’t Touch This” MC Hammer swept the world by storm and hammer pants became an overnight fashion sensation. I remember doing the running man and other nineties dance moves in these baggy pants.
How about you? If you wanna relive your glory years or see the fashions you missed out on tune into Revival: 1990.
