Matt as Irreverent S**t Disturber never takes himself too seriously, and uses wit and humour to disarm rockers and movie stars. A recent red-carpet detail saw Matt bring a blow-up doll to ask questions at a film premiere, and Matt once put Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger into his patented wrestling move, the MattLock.
This unique approach allows Matt to be as comfortable in dingy clubs as the VIP lounge, and his mixed-bag of engaging and entertaining interviews includes Tori Amos, Rob Halford, Feist, Ben Harper, Velvet Revolver, Zach Efron, Chris Tucker, Andy Sandberg, Claire Danes, Ice-T, Ozzy Osbourne and many, many more.
HOW MATT EARNED HIS STRIPES . . .
Matt “went coastal” and lived to tell the tale. For four years he reported on the burgeoning East Coast music scene as MuchMusic’s Going Coastal correspondent. All the while, Matt did double duty as front man for Newfoundland-born hardcore metal band Bucket Truck. While honing his considerable skills as the consummate interviewer, Matt mastered the ins and outs of the music industry – he even produced and directed music videos. The two skills would prove symbiotic, and Matt may be the only journalist to have interviewed Slayer and then jumped on stage to open for them.
While he may be a natural with the stars, Matt’s not about to forget his roots any time soon. He remains a passionate supporter of the East Coast indie scene, and continues to write, perform, and record.

He lives and breathes music.
